Myke Cooper, LCSW provides therapy services without discrimination. Every person who walks through this door — or logs into this session — deserves to be met with dignity, respect, and competent care. That is not a legal formality. It is a professional and personal commitment.
"I work with people across race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, and socioeconomic background. You do not have to minimize who you are to access care here."
Myke Cooper, LCSW does not discriminate in the provision of services on the basis of:
This policy applies to all aspects of service delivery — intake, scheduling, the therapeutic relationship itself, and any communications related to care.
This practice is explicitly affirming of LGBTQ+ identities. Gender identity and sexual orientation are not treated as clinical problems to be addressed unless they are something the client themselves wants to explore. Conversion therapy or any practice aimed at changing sexual orientation or gender identity is not practiced and is not consistent with ethical professional standards.
This practice is also culturally responsive to the specific experiences of Black men, men of color, and communities where mental health stigma and systemic barriers to care have created additional obstacles. Those experiences are not peripheral to the work — they are part of the context in which the work happens.
Online therapy sessions remove many traditional access barriers — no transportation, no waiting room, no geographic limitation for clients in licensed states. If you have specific accessibility needs related to our communication or the format of sessions, please raise them directly. Reasonable accommodations will be made whenever possible.
If you require language assistance, please note this when reaching out and we will work to identify appropriate resources or referrals.
If you believe you have experienced discrimination in connection with services provided by Myke Cooper, LCSW, you may:
This policy is consistent with requirements under Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and applicable Georgia state law governing licensed clinical social workers.
